Organic Merino Tweed

Now this is a properly lovely woolly yarn.

Soft, squishy and beautifully traditional in feel, this scrumptious tweedy merino has just enough character and texture to make it interesting, while still being wonderfully soft against the skin.

It’s a slightly finer yarn, but don’t let that fool you – this is one of those yarns that really comes into its own once it’s washed and blocked. The organic merino blooms beautifully, filling out the stitches and creating a gorgeous, cohesive fabric that feels soft, warm and wonderfully woolly.

The little tweedy flecks give it that lovely heritage feel without making it look old fashioned, and I can see this making the most fabulous sweaters, cardigans, slipovers, hats, scarves and everyday accessories.

I really like this yarn.

It has that slightly more traditional wool feel that makes you think of proper, beautifully made knitwear – the sort of jumper you pull out year after year and somehow love even more as it gets older.

It’s soft and squishy, but it still feels like wool, which I personally think is a very good thing!

It does feel a little finer before it’s knitted, but give it a wash and let that merino do its thing. It will bloom beautifully and settle into a lovely soft fabric.

Definitely one for garments you intend to make now and wear for years.

It’s sustainable, non-mulesed and pesticide-free organic merino wool, giving you a beautiful natural fibre with thought given to both its origins and how it has been produced.

And happily, all those credentials haven’t come at the expense of how it feels – because this really is rather scrumptious.
