ChiaoGoo TWIST Lace Small Interchangeable Needle Set – 10cm Tips
My guilty pleasure of knitting needles – and quite possibly the last set of needles you’ll ever need!
I absolutely love my ChiaoGoo interchangeables. In fact, my set travels pretty much everywhere with me because I love knowing that whatever I decide to cast on, I’ve probably got the right size needle and cable tucked away in my case.
They’re definitely a bit of a treat, but if you knit regularly, they’re a fabulous investment.
I use both the ChiaoGoo stainless steel and bamboo tips, depending on what I’m making and the yarn I’m using, and swap between the TWIST, SWIV360 and fixed cables too. That’s one of the things I particularly love about the ChiaoGoo system – you can build your collection around the way you knit.
What’s so good about them?
The TWIST Lace tips are made from surgical-grade stainless steel and have beautifully smooth, tapered points. They’re pointy enough for lace, cables and more intricate stitch patterns, but I use mine for everyday knitting too.
The joins are smooth, the stitches glide beautifully and – perhaps most importantly – the cables behave themselves!
ChiaoGoo’s famous red TWIST cables are made from multiple strands of steel coated in red nylon. They’re incredibly flexible, memory-free and don’t spend your entire knitting session trying to curl themselves back into the shape they were stored in. Once you’ve used a really good cable, you’ll wonder why you put up with badly behaved ones for so long.
The tips simply screw onto the cable and are secured using the little tightening key supplied in the set, giving you a secure connection that’s still easy to undo when you want to change your needle or cable.

This Small set has 10cm interchangeable tips from 2.75mm to 5mm, making it a brilliant collection for everything from finer knits and shawls through to your everyday DK and lighter aran projects.

Everything has its own place in the lovely black-and-white floral case with ChiaoGoo’s signature red detailing, so it’s easy to see exactly which needles you’ve got with you.
And yes, mine gets carried around. A lot.
Build your perfect ChiaoGoo collection
One of the clever things about ChiaoGoo is that their interchangeable system allows you to add different tips and cables as you go.
TWIST and SPIN tips and cables are compatible where they share the same connection size, so you can mix stainless steel and bamboo tips and choose the cable you prefer.
The connection sizes are:
MINI (M) – generally used for the smallest needle sizes
Small (S) – 2.75mm–5mm in the standard 10cm and 13cm tips
Large (L) – 5.5mm–10mm in the standard 10cm and 13cm tips
This Small set uses the S connection.
MINI has its own smaller connection and isn’t directly interchangeable with Small or Large cables, although ChiaoGoo does make adapters and connectors to give you even more flexibility.

My ChiaoGoo set is my knitting guilty pleasure and goes pretty much everywhere with me. I use the bamboo tips for some projects and the stainless steel for others, and I love both the red TWIST and SWIV360 cables.
They’re beautifully made, they feel lovely to knit with and, because you can add to the system over time, you can create a needle collection that’s completely tailored to the way you knit.
If you’re fed up with hunting for the right circular needle every time you start a project, treat yourself to a proper set.
You may never need to rummage through the needle drawer again.
