A yarn with heritage woven into every stitch

Elder Anatolian Merino is a beautifully soft, 100% merino wool with a fascinating history. Produced in Turkey using carefully bred Anatolian Merino sheep, this exceptional fibre combines centuries of traditional shepherding with generations of selective breeding to create a yarn that is both luxurious and wonderfully practical.

Certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and produced from mulesing-free wool, you can knit with confidence knowing your yarn has been created with both quality and animal welfare in mind.

One of the standout qualities of Anatolian Merino is its remarkable natural elasticity. The beautifully crimped fibres create knitted fabrics that gently stretch and spring back into shape, helping garments retain their fit wear after wear. Whether you’re knitting jumpers, cardigans, hats or cosy accessories, your finished pieces will have a lovely bounce and resilience.

The fibre also produces wonderfully crisp stitch definition, making textured stitches, cables, lace and colourwork stand out beautifully. Smooth enough for stocking stitch yet full of character, it’s a joy to knit with from the very first row.

As with all natural merino wool, Elder Anatolian Merino offers excellent temperature regulation. It keeps you warm when it’s cold, remains breathable when you’re active and feels wonderfully comfortable next to the skin, making it suitable for garments you’ll reach for throughout the year.
