Baa Ram Ewe Woodnote Aran

Beautifully British, wonderfully woolly and inspired by the colours of the English woodland, Baa Ram Ewe Woodnote Aran is a luxurious blend of three very special sheep breeds.

Made from 34% Bluefaced Leicester, 33% Masham and 33% Merino, Woodnote brings together the individual qualities of each breed to create a yarn that’s soft and comfortable enough to wear next to the skin, while still retaining that wonderful character and substance you expect from a proper wool yarn.

The gorgeous palette takes its inspiration from the English woodland, making the shades particularly lovely for colourwork as well as classic, timeless garments.

Woodnote Aran has beautiful stitch definition and is equally at home knitted into cosy sweaters and cardigans, textured cables, hats, scarves and accessories. And with 154 metres in each generous 100g hank, it’s a lovely choice for those special garments you’ll reach for year after year.

All of the wool used comes from non-mulesed sheep, and Woodnote is also available in a coordinating DK weight.

There is just something rather special about a proper British wool yarn, and Woodnote is a beauty.

I love the blend of breeds in this one. You’ve got the lovely softness of Merino, Bluefaced Leicester bringing its beautiful character and lustre, and Masham adding that unmistakably British woolliness to the mix.

And then there are the colours! The whole range is inspired by English woodland, so they sit beautifully together – perfect if you’re planning colourwork or just find yourself incapable of choosing only one shade. A problem I fully understand and absolutely refuse to apologise for.

This is the sort of yarn I’d choose for a really good sweater: something beautifully woolly, comfortable to wear and classic enough that you’re still going to love it years from now.
