About the Leather
Project 39 is made from RE’s beautiful Urban Leather — a milled cow leather which retains the natural grain and character of the original hide.
Each bag is dyed before the surface is fully finished, helping to preserve those natural variations. A light wax is then applied to create the wonderfully soft, smooth finish we love.
The result is leather with real character, where natural variations mean no two bags are exactly the same.

This is such a good everyday project bag.
What really makes the Project 39 stand out for me is the shoulder strap. Sometimes you just don’t want another bag taking up one of your hands — particularly if you’re travelling, shopping, going to knit group or generally carting half your life around with you!
Pop the strap over your shoulder or wear it crossover and your knitting can come along for the ride completely hands-free.
It’s also one of those bags where you open it and think, “How on earth have they fitted all that space in there?” It looks relatively compact from the outside, but that slanted zip opens everything up beautifully and there’s loads of useful storage inside.
If you loved the Project 10 but wished you could sling it over your shoulder and go, this is the one.
