This beautiful yarn is named ‘Slingsby’ after William Slingsby who discovered the unique properties of the natural spring water from Harrogate’s Tewit Well back in 1571! His discovery has since brought thousands of visitors to ‘take the waters’ which are thought to have medicinal properties and even today, people from all over the world visit our beautiful spa town to enjoy the gentle atmosphere and sometimes still take the waters.
This stunning yarn is a new addition to the Harrogate Yarn Company stable and is a superb luxury yarn with the softest handle of 70% British Falkland Merino 15% Silk and 15% Alpaca. Perfect for those luxury garments and accessories.
Hand dyed in house by Fiona, the owner of The Harrogate Yarn Company and Yarn Etc in Harrogate each skein is as individual as you are. Each shade is a limited edition run of a maximum of 5 skeins.
