Rico Soft Alpaca DK has been a staple here at Yarn Etc for the last couple of years – and we’re very happy to say that six gorgeous new colours are now joining the range!
Soft, squishy and wonderfully cosy, Soft Alpaca DK is one of those fabulous all-rounder yarns that works beautifully for virtually anything you fancy knitting or crocheting. With 20% alpaca and 20% wool blended with acrylic, you get that lovely soft, warm handle from the natural fibres while still having a practical, easy-to-work-with yarn.
It creates a beautifully soft fabric with a really lovely, professional finish, making it equally at home in sweaters and cardigans as it is in hats, scarves, cowls and other accessories.
And the colour palette is just gorgeous. With six new shades joining an already fabulous range, there are even more colours to choose from – contemporary enough to feel bang on trend, but wearable enough to make those favourite garments you’ll reach for year after year.
Fiona says: When we first brought Soft Alpaca into the shop I said I could see it becoming a long-term staple – and I was right! We’ve had it for a couple of years now and it’s such a lovely yarn to work with. I’ve recently used the navy to make a gorgeous Purl & Jane baby cardigan for my brand-new grandson, Corey, ready for when he’s big enough to fit into it. It knitted up beautifully – soft, cosy and squishy with that little bit of alpaca loveliness. It’s like a warm hug in a ball… which seems rather appropriate for a new grandson! And now I have six new colours to tempt me too.
