What the Devil is a Chalybeate I hear you ask?

Chalybeate

Chalybeate I hear you say?!? Yep, it’s a cryptic name for sure haha.  If you know anything about Harrogate’s history the town became famous for its springs and if you have been lucky (!!!) you might have even tried some of the waters from the Sulphur spring tap next to the Pump Rooms in Harrogate.  What is little known is that Harrogate has various types of springs, the Sulphur one as mentioned above but there are also Magnesium Springs and also Chalybeate springs which are Iron Springs.  The nearest Chalybeate Spring is only a few hundred metres from  the shop on the stray known as St Johns Well on Wetherby road near the hospital, the small pump room is still standing and used as business premises to this day.

This yarn is produced from traceable 100% British Romney Sheep Wool this DK weight yarn is expertly spun locally by Laxtons and hand dyed by Fiona of the Harrogate Yarn Company exclusively for Yarn Etc.
