Yarn etc has the pleasure to introduce you to the brand new, exclusive, Mercer DK bought to you by their brand new company, The Harrogate Yarn Co.

This Mercer DK yarn has been spun entirely from single farm British reared New Zealand Romney sheep whose fleece is fully traceable back to Gordon and Glenys’ award-winning family farm in beautiful Hampshire that the pair have been running for more than 35 years.

This fabulous double knit weight yarn has been dyed to The Harrogate Yarn Company’s handpicked colour range by Park Valley Dyers in Huddersfield and then spun to meet The Harrogate Yarn Company’s exacting specifications by the incredible Laxtons Specialist Yarn Spinners in Baildon who have been spinning yarn since 1907.

The beautiful ball bands have been created by local graphic designer, Rosie Houghton, who is based just down the road in Knaresborough and have been printed by Fretwell’s Printers in Keighley who have been proudly independently printing for over 40 years and are the trusted printers used by Laxtons.

Delivery was taken by hand when The Harrogate Yarn Company’s owner, Fiona, picking up the yarn herself from Laxtons and transporting it over to Harrogate to proudly and exclusively sell directly to you in store at Yarn Etc and online at www.yarnetc.co.uk.

As you can see from our beautiful yarn that this collaboration has culminated in our beautiful Mercer DK being a sustainable, elegant, British Fleece being created by a fabulous heritage of long-standing Yorkshire Businesses
