Hi there, how are you?
I hope you didn’t melt over the last week’s weird and wonderful weather. I love a bit of heat
but flip wasn’t that something else? I spent most of the time in the kitchen working from home Monday and Wednesday to avoid the heat and catch up on my admin and soooo much more enjoyable, prepare this Newsletter with the exciting news I promised last time.

This is a very big one though, and has been an ongoing secret for the last 9 months. I know, who knew I could keep a secret that loooong.

WE HAVE CREATED OUR OWN MAGNIFICENT YARN BRAND...

Yes, you heard me right, a new yarn brand! And I have been working alongside Laxtons Specialist Yarn Spinners - based in Baildon , Yorkshire - who have been spinning yarn since 1907. to create our first fabulous new British yarn...
|

|
This Mercer DK yarn is fully traceable back to the farm where the gorgeous Romney sheep live.
|
It has been spun entirely from single farm British reared New Zealand Romney sheep on Gordon and Glenys’ award-winning family farm in beautiful Hampshire which the pair have been running for more than 35 years.
|
The fleeces of these lovely sheep produce a fabulous, soft, long staple fibre perfect for hand knitting. This is, I have to
say, is a beautiful, sustainable and locally produced yarn that I am so very very proud of.

|
This fabulous Mercer DK has a range of 8 shades: Old Swan, Cold Bath, The Stray, Daffodil Walk, Cherry Blossom, Pump Room, Agatha's Claret, and Bean's Tea...
|
The beautiful ball bands have been created by local graphic designer, Rosie Houghton, who is based just down the road in Knaresborough.
|
And are printed by Fretwell’s Printers in Keighley, who have been proudly printing independently for over 40 years, and are the trusted printers used by Laxtons.
|
Making our beautiful yarn a sustainable, elegant, British Fleece created by a fabulous heritage of long-standing Yorkshire Businesses.
|

All 8 shades are lovely individually, but mix and match together beautifully too.
|
We are currently in the process of knitting up a storm of samples for you all to have a play with in the shop and for us to take on the road too!

Yes you heard me right, on the road! We will be exhibiting at The Summer Wool Festival at Redbourne School, Ampthill, next weekend: July 30th & 31st.
We will be in the Sports Hall on stand S7, with our lovely big stand showing off all the lush Yarn etc... to everyone and anyone who walks within 20 feet of our stall. Honestly, we dare you to get past without us accosting you haha ;)
The Summer Wool Festival is very handily only 3 miles from where my daughter lives so I have ropped her in to be my glamourous sales assistant for the week end. Please be gentle with her, she’s not a yarnaholic but good fun so I'm really looking forward to spending time introducing her to the delights of wool!!
This is only the second time we have every exhibited at a yarn festival, So, if you are down Bedfordshire way and are planning on visiting do come and say hello...
