Well, it seems like such a long time ago that I was over in Cologne at the H and H trade fair and in all fairness it is, lol! ๐Ÿ˜‚

It was such a crafty inspirational trip with just so much to see! With over 300 stands over three floors it was as much a work out as a buying trip with over 17000 steps being walked!

After a really early flight on Friday morning I arrived at the Koln Messe venue at 10am and hit the ground running to cover the said three floors of exhibitors and basically just try and find out where everything was.
It was lovely to see familiar faces like King Cole and Scheepjes who, as you will know, I have been a stockist of their yarn for over 8 years now and it's always great to see them at a show.

There was just so much yarn to see it was mind blowing. Some of the display stands were just absolutely stunning and it was the most incredible tactile touchy feely few days with sooooo many gorgeous samples to stroke, try on and squish at the exhibitor stands. I met up with my super Lang Rep Vanessa and Michael from Rico too. I might have spent rather a lot on new season stuff with Rico but don't tell anyone!!
I took so many pictures too as it was just so inspiring and really quite hard to decide what to buy mainly as I was a bit over faced by it all.
I did think I would manage to cover the show in about a day and a half and get to do a bit of sightseeing too, how wrong I was! I spent everyday at the show for the full three days as there was just so much to see along with appointments to keep with Reps for various suppliers and in between time I managed to bump into some of my favourite people.
I saw the gorgeous Erica Knight and Bella, her daughter, which was a lovely surprise and so great to chat with after so long (too many years).

On top of that I got to meet Milli from Tribe Yarns for the first time as we bumped into each other then we accidentally had lunch together where we put the world to rights and challenged the CEO of the trade show on some of his ideas, lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ (that's another story!). Milli has some stunning yarn and is based up ion Scotland on the East Coast.

I also spent time with the fabulous Vanessa from Hoop Haberdashery who is also my Lang Rep and I got to spend the evening with her and her posse, eating pizza and knocking back AF beers (did you know they have the most amazing AF beers in Germany, I can highly recommend them).
I would like to say I had a very rock 'n' roll evening with Sara from Black Sheep Wools but we were both so exhausted by the Sunday evening that we actually had an early dinner and we're both in our respective hotels in bed by 7.30pm! So not quite as rock 'n' roll as it could have been but it was wonderful to catch up with Sara and bounce ideas off each other, it was a super evening.

So apart from that, I bet you are wondering what I actually did buy?! Well here are a few pictures of the show for you, some of which are showing what's coming in the next few weeks/months and some are just for inspiration...I'll leave it up to you to try and work which are which, hahaha.

I hope you've enjoyed hearing about my trip to Cologne in this special edition of Yarns Unspun.

I'll be sending out another newsletter soon with all the details of what's new in the shop, what I've been working on and more. In the meantime, have a lovely weekend.

See you soon lovelies! ๐Ÿ˜Š
